Rider Abdullah Al-Sharbatly crowned champion of the Diriyah Show Jumping Cup
The Diriyah International Show Jumping Championship was concluded on Saturday evening, which was held for three days at the Saudi Jumping Headquarters in Janadriyah. More than 100 male and female riders from several countries participated in it.
The tournament consisted of nine rounds at several different levels, including rounds whose points are calculated within the individual qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Mr. Badr bin Mufarrej, General Supervisor of the Office of the CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, Knight Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, was crowned champion of the Diriyah Cup for show jumping in the final round on hurdles of 155 cm height, accompanied by his horse "Kanabs", with a time of 74.11 seconds, while the Thai jockey Janaka Bourne came in second place. On the horse "Max Wayne" with a time of 49.17 seconds, the Syrian rider Amr Hamsho came in third place on the horse "Faqa Bon" with a time of 55.40 seconds.
In the first half, the "Sports Track", with a height of 115 cm, the rider Hassan Al Hadi was able to achieve the first place, while the rider Muhammad Al Hadi came second, and the rider Fanoun Al-Humaidan came in the third place. Ibrahim came second, the knight Badr Al-Asmari, and thirdly the knight Nasser Al-Shawaf. In the third round, the "Sports Track", a height of 145 cm, the knight Abdullah Al-Sharbatly managed to snatch the title of the round, to come in second place, the Thai knight Janaka Born, and the third Syrian knight, Ahmed Hamsho.
In the fourth round, "Ready", with a height of 120 cm, the jockey, Fanoun Al-Humaidan, was able to achieve first place for the half, while the second place went to the knight Fahd Al-Jaeed, and Abdul Rahman Al-Nimr came third, and in the fifth round, "Sports Track", a height of 130 cm. The second was the knight Salman Al-Ajmi, and the Qatari knight Hussein Haidan came in third place, and in the sixth round of the championship, the “Saudi Equestrian Federation round” on hurdles of 145 cm height, the Syrian knight Ahmed Hamsho achieved first place, to come second, the Jordanian knight Nasouh Kayali, and the third came the knight Walid Al-Ghamdi, and in The last day of the tournament was the beginning of the seventh round, the "Sports Track", with hurdles of 120 cm high, in which the knight Hassan Al Hadi was able to snatch his breasts, to come second to the knight Abdullah Al Sheikh, and thirdly to the knight Abdul Rahman Qahl. The rider, Bandar bin Mahfouz, came in second place, and the Jordanian rider, Huda Kayali, came in the third place.
The championship witnessed strong competition and excitement, and the name of the Diriyah Cup comes within the framework of the strategic partnership that was recently signed between the Diriyah Company and the Saudi Equestrian Federation.
